I bet you don’t smoke because you want to, or because you decided to.
You smoke because you think you can’t stop, that you are trapped.
You didn’t pick up your first cigarette (or pipe, or cigar, or whatever it is you smoke) with the intent to become a smoker for life.
But smoking IS a chain reaction for life. If you don’t break it, you will smoke for life.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way and you can become a non-smoker, and it will be much easier than you expect.
I can help you become a non-smoker, and it won’t take a lot of your time or money.
You probably know that:
- An average of 6 million people die from tobacco use every year
- Smokers die, on average, 10 years earlier than non-smokers
- Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the US
- Cigarettes and their smoke contain 7,000+ dangerous chemicals and toxins
- Smoking is associated with a myriad of serious and debilitating health problems
- Smokers who quit before age 40 reduce their chance of dying too early from smoking-related diseases by about 90 percent
- Those who quit by age 45–54 reduce their chance of dying too early by about two-thirds
- After you quit, your body begins to heal within 20 minutes of your last cigarette
But moving from knowing that smoking is terrible for you to DOING something about it can be difficult.
If you are one of the 70% of smokers who want to break the habit (or if you want to help someone you care about quit), read on.
This How to Become a Non-Smoker program will show you how to change your thinking about smoking so you can ditch the habit for good.
I will help you uncover the truth about why you have become addicted to smoking and will teach you how to release yourself from the grip of tobacco.
For those who do not already know me, my name is Lisa. I am a certified nutrition coach, and my specialty area is habit change. I’ve worked as a wellness educator, personal trainer, weight loss clinic manager and counselor, and as a hypnotherapist. When I was a hypnotherapist, my specialties were weight loss and smoking cessation.
This program is NOT hypnosis.
However, my experience as a hypnotherapist taught me a great deal about smoking and how to help people quit – mainly, about the thought processes smokers have, and how they can change their thinking to become non-smokers.
This program combines my experience with helping people with my training in habit change coaching techniques. I also included some other concepts from psychology and a bit of philosophy, too.
A 2013 Gallup poll found that 85% of smokers in the US have tried to quit at least once in their lifetime. Of those, 45% have tried at least three times. The majority of smokers – 72% – say they are addicted to cigarettes.
Only about 7% succeed in their first attempt to quit.
But WHY is quitting so difficult?
And WHY do people continue to smoke even though they know it is terrible for them?
One reason – and it is a significant one – that people have trouble kicking the smoking habit is their beliefs about smoking.
The goal of this program isn’t to remind you how bad smoking is for your health and your bank account. (If you do want to calculate how much you spend on cigarettes every year – and how much you WILL spend over your lifetime if you continue to smoke – check out this calculator: How Much Will You Save?)
You know those things already! I doubt there is a single person who believes that smoking is a healthful habit and is worth spending thousands of dollars on.
I’m not going to waste your time with statistics and lecturing and talking about all the things you already know.
My goal is to help you view smoking differently.
To reframe it.
To show you how cigarette manufacturers and society have brainwashed you into thinking it is far more addictive than it is.
My goal is to help you realize that becoming a non-smoker is not as hard as you think.
I have done my best to make this program affordable, too.

If this program seems expensive to you, consider how much continuing to smoke will cost you over your lifetime…be sure to factor in not only the price of cigarettes themselves but the health care expenses associated with smoking.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average cost of a pack of cigarettes is $6.28. At that price, a pack-a-day habit sets you back $188 per month…or $2,292 per year. Ten years of smoking (based on the $6.28 rate increasing 6% annually) will cost you $30,213.02.
By state, the average retail price of a pack of 20 cigarettes, including federal and state excise taxes, ranges from $4.38 in Missouri to $10.45 in New York (these are 2019 figures).
Smoking-related illnesses in the US costs more than $300 billion per year, according to the CDC.
