beck.jpgI thought pomegranates might work for me since it has the same taste as multivitamins do, but it didn’t help. Clearly, it doesn’t contain as much vitamins as the multivitamins do, duh! And I’m so tired of drinking those multivitamins! Luckily, I just got my audio book The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person in the mail the other day. It’s totally awesome! Love it! It made me realize I’ve never really dealt with my cravings issue before. Every time I crave something, I’ve been trying to ignore the feelings, which led me being even more obsessed with food. Finally, I would give in and overeat. I already lost my battle against food when I started negotiating with my thoughts. Here are some of my sabotaging thoughts associated with food:

  • It won’t matter if I eat this food just this one time
  • I know I shouldn’t eat this but I can’t resist it
  • I’ve had such a hard day, I deserve to eat this
  • If I don’t eat now, I won’t be able to go to sleep

With the beck diet solution I’m learning how to counteract my sabotaging thoughts with helpful responses. It’s helping me to overcome other weight loss obstacles as well by changing the way I think.

Another good book that might be a good read is cravings secret which deal directly with the cravings issue such as pizza, pasta, carbs, salty, fried foods, fast food, sugar, chocolate and more.

Spread the word!

Great recognition of the mental battle. We have such an overwhelming availability to all foods that the emotional connection is so easy to fall into. Is the Beck Diet more a motivational tool to work through food perceptions or an outlined plan of what to eat/not to eat?

Cindy It’s NOT an outlined plan what we should eat or don’t. It’s more motivational, helping you to stay focus on losing weight by changing the way you think about weight loss. You’ll learn to strengthen your motivating voice and weaken your sabotaging voice. Sometimes we don’t want to do the little things because we see no directly benefits, but Beck teaches us that it’s better to maximize the chances than not doing it. She’s keeping me sharp and focus on my goal.

    Congrats on losing Jessica!

I use exactly the same rationales when I give in to a splurge!! They can really be a trap.

Where do you get the drinkable vitamins? I know you say you’re tired of them, but I thought I’d give them a try.

Marie I still drink it, but not everyday. I bought mine at a grocery store here in Sweden. Here’s what it looks like. It’s effervescent tablet that fully dissolves in water before use.The taste that I’ve is passion/orange flavor. Any effervescent multivitamins tablets will do. Mine contain 13 vitamins and 10 minerals.

Jessica, I always forget you are in Sweden! You seem so American. No offense! lol

I will have to see if the vitamins are available in that form here in the US.
